We've already seen a bunch of deals this season with the likes of Mikko Rantanen, J.T. Miller, Kaapo Kakko, and Seth Jones all finding new homes in recent weeks.
Well, if those were the first dominos to fall, we've gotten another deal and this time it involves Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederic.
It's been reported by Elliotte Friedman that Boston has a deal in place with Edmonton that will send Frederic to the Oilers.
The New Jersey Devils are also expected to be involved, although the logistics of the entire trade are a bit complex.

Trent Frederic To Oilers; Picks and Prospects To New Jersey and Boston

The official deal is as follows:
Edmonton gets Max Jones in addition to adding Frederic meanwhile the Bruins get a couple of decent picks and defensive prospect Max Wanner.
New Jersey's bounty for the deal involves the rights to prospect Shane LaChance after retaining 50% salary on Edmonton's behalf.
Frederic, 27, is having a down season with only eight goals and seven assists in 57 games but is coming off a two year stretch where he potted 35 goals for the Bruins.
He is making $2.3M this season and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Jones, 27, is a power forward in the vein of Frederic as Edmonton gets a lot beefier as they head into the playoffs.
This season with the Bruins he has zero points in seven games but in the AHL has put together a solid 21 points in 38 games with Providence.
Wanner is an offensively gifted two-way blueliner as Boston goes through an accelerated rebuild. He is only 21 and was drafted 212th overall by Edmonton in 2021.
In 22 games with Bakersfield (AHL) he has one goal and one assist.
LaChance, Edmonton's sixth round pick in 2021, is a towering power forward at 6'5, 218 pounds at only 21, he could still grow and bulk up even more. The NCAA forward has 23 goals and 29 assists in 72 games with Boston University.
It's a fairly large deal given it's not the biggest name on the market, but with Frederic out west, Toronto's options are started to limit themselves, and that's a bad sign for a team desperate for improvement.
