Tinus Luc Koblar had no time for disrespect after being targeted by an opponent during an SHL game, and decided to take matters into his own hands - by any means.
Despite a strong season last year and hopes to make the Toronto Marlies this season, Tinus Luc Koblar has been loaned out to Rogle BK of the SHL as he continues to grow and learn to play against older competition, but his future is nonetheless bright.
He's had a solid start to his season as well, with three assists through three games along with a plus-2. However, he also had to deal with something that he wasn't expecting - nor did he take it too kindly.
Tinus Luc Koblar goes off on opponent after disparaging remarks
During the game vs. HV71, Koblar had a run-in with HV71 forward Nikola Pasic, who had some choice comments regarding Koblar's family, and while the exact translation cannot be repeated here, suffice to say it was a derogatory comment.
Well, that didn't sit well with Koblar, who went after Pasicafter Rogle's 4-3 win and had some words for him at centre ice. He even had a little scrap with him afterwards, and explained in his post-game interview that he was fired up after being disrespected:
-
Koblar is one of the Maple Leafs' top prospects meanwhile Pasic was drafted 189th overall by the New Jersey Devils in 2019 but has never made the leap to North America.
Koblar's fire is something Toronto can benefit from
Seeing Koblar have a bit of an edge is a great asset to have as a youngster, as it shows he's got that aggressiveness that is crucial for finding an NHL job.
Already a towering presence on the ice, the fact that he is willing to get in the middle of things, fight, and defend himself - and in turn his teammates as well - can only mean good things for his future on the Maple Leafs.
He isn't just a defensively sound prospect with underrated scoring ability, but a player who won't hesitate to step in when needed, and for the Maple Leafs that's almost mandatory nowadays with the level of protection their stars need.
We have to see how Koblar responds on the ice, but one thing is for certain so far: He's going to push back if you decide to push his buttons.
Do you think Tinus Luc Koblar overreacted to his opponent's comments?
