Get your tickets Leafs fans, because Toronto is throwing a draft watch party as the team announced they are throwing a huge bash to celebrate the festivities.
Toronto holds the first overall draft pick for June 26th's NHL Entry Draft and that means Gavin McKenna is likely coming in. That's going to bring a lot of hype and excitement, so the Maple Leafs are capitalizing on that with their announcement that they are holding a draft party for fans.
When the Maple Leafs won that first overall pick, it stunned everyone considering they just came out of a terrible season but still had a bevy of stars at their disposal. It's not too often you see a team so front-loaded be able to add someone with the talent of McKenna, but the hockey gods were smiling upon John Chayka.

It actually gave fans a reason to tune in as there was some issues with how the team is going to rebound and faith was slowly being lost. But they made some good front office moves, have the first pick, and their captain is ready to get back on the ice and be dominant once again.
That's a lot to be excited for, and that's why the team is giving fans a chance to celebrate.
The Maple Leafs announced on social media that they are going to be holding a draft watch party for fans on June 26th, with tickets going on sale this Thursday, June 11th:

As the Toronto Maple Leafs prepare for the 2026 NHL Draft, the club will host a Draft Watch Party presented by Rogers for fans at Scotiabank Arena on Friday, June 26.
The event will bring Leafs Nation together for a live viewing experience in the heart of the arena featuring activation stations, in-arena programming, alumni appearances, dressing room tours and more.
John Chayka and Toronto reveal a star-studded affair for the Maple Leafs draft party
That's not too shabby for fans and it's definitely something more than just a viewing party. GM John Chayka commented on the decision to throw the party, and wanted to give fans every reason to celebrate all things Maple Leafs:
The first overall pick carries a special place in the history of this franchise, said General Manager John Chayka. From Wendel Clark to Auston Matthews, those players have helped shape generations of Maple Leafs hockey.
We're excited to share this moment with our fans as we welcome the next player to begin that journey in Toronto.
The following will also be part of the evening's events:
- Live draft coverage including a live DJ, giveaways and special appearances
- 'Activation Stations' which involves walking the arena floor with special pop-up kiosks
- Wendel Clark, Darryl Sittler and other alumni are expected to be in attendance
- Behind the scenes access to the locker room and media centre where there will be photo opportunities for fans.
Tickets are only $10 apiece, and the proceeds go to the MLSE Foundation.
