After recording their 50th win of the season last night at Madison Square Garden, Sheldon Keefe did not hold back any praise for his newly minted winger.

After a 3-0-0 stretch (all coming vs. playoff teams) with Matthew Knies in the lineup, he has played up to the hype that he had coming in.

Jumping right into the fire after a disappointing loss in the NCAA finals, is not easy, especially for a 20-year-old carrying the amount of pressure that he is.

"Another good game & some really strong moments in the game, for sure. All three games he's done a really good job of showing he belongs. I'd feel very comfortable (playing him in the playoffs)... he's certainly fit in,"
said Keefe regarding Knies' play thus far.

It would not come as a total shock to see Knies at some point during the first-round series against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

He brings the element of size that Keefe may be looking for to set the tone early in the series but also has the skill to make plays in tight areas and create scoring chances.

Having Knies even somewhere in the bottom six to start the playoffs may be a welcome sight for Keefe.
