The Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe provided an update on Joel Edmundson's return.

According to the coach, Edmundson could be back on the lineup as early as next Thursday. He won't be available for tonight's game against the Penguins or tomorrow, against the Devils.
However, he could be back on the ice on Thursday or Saturday, against the Devils or the Red Wings.
"Sheldon Keefe says Joel Edmundson remains out today and tomorrow but may return later this week

Leafs have games Thursday (vs Devils) and Saturday (vs Wings)"
Getting him on the ice for a few games before the season ends will be great to help him find his rhythm after missing more than two weeks of action.
Edmundson played only seven games with the Leafs since he was traded by the Washington Capitals, and didn't score any points in that span. However, that's not what he was brought in Toronto for. Edmundson's leadership and defensive skills could play a valuable role for Toronto in the playoffs.
He won the Stanley Cup back in 2019 with the St. Louis Blues, and reached the Finals in 2021 with the Montreal Canadiens, which is more experience than most of the Leafs' locker room.
More to come.
