Doan Could Look To Acquire Top Coyote
The Arizona Coyotes have been disappointing for the past few years and have struggled financially throughout.
Because of this, they could be looking to ship off one of their top players who will be making a lot coming soon.
Nick Schmaltz has been one of the brightest spots for the Arizona Coyotes.
Scoring 58 points in 63 games, he has scored at a 75-point pace the past two seasons. Currently number 13 on the trade board from The Athletic, Schmaltz could be a perfect option for the Leafs.
While the Coyotes could not pay Schmaltz's contract comfortably, the Leafs certainly could.
It would actually work out in the Leafs' favor because Schmaltz would be getting paid like his production suggests he should get paid but he would have a cap hit under $6 million.
