Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky is already making a huge impression in the locker room, and it may just transform this franchise for the better.
According to Elliotte Friedman on "32 Thoughts," Sergei Bobrovsky has already become a popular guy inside of the Toronto Maple Leafs' locker room.
While Friedman admits that Bobrovsky isn't a vocal guy, he is so well respected that he has immediately become among the loudest voices in the room. With just a few words, he can immediately lift the mood and motivate guys to do better.
He doesn't say a lot, but Bobrovsky I've heard has become one of the biggest voices in that room, that when he talks, mountains move.

This is something the Leafs have not had for a long time. Auston Matthews and John Tavares have always favored leading by example. However, it appears as though Bobrovsky is proving to be the best of both worlds.
Why Bobrovsky's words resonate
Sergei Bobrovsky is a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Florida Panthers, who has gotten the better of the Toronto Maple Leafs on numerous occasions.
Therefore, it is easy to see why the Leafs' veterans, and even the younger players, would want to take Bobrovsky's words to heart. If there is anyone who has ever been through it, it would be Bob.
Whether or not he is able to carry this impact through to the regular season remains to be seen. If the Leafs are not performing well by January, then Bobrovsky's leadership could eventually fall on deaf ears.
At the end of the day, it is the results that are going to determine whether or not Bobrovsky is successful in Toronto. Regardless, those leadership qualities are an appreciated bonus.
The Leafs will begin their regular season on September 29 against the Montreal Canadiens, and it is expected that Bobrovsky will, in fact, be the starter.
