The Toronto Maple Leafs have officially revealed their lineup for their fourth preseason game against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.
As the regular season quickly approaches us, with October 8th only a week and a half away, it's getting down to the nitty gritty when it comes to the preseason as we pass the halfway mark on the schedule.
Maple Leafs Confirm Their Official Preseason Lineup
But who is going to be taking the ice tonight? While we had a projected lineup earlier in the day, we can now confirm how the Maple Leafs are going to ice their team come game time:
Jarnkrok - Tavares - Nylander
Knies - Domi - Robertson
Joshua -Roy - Maccelli
Pezzetta - Quillan - Valis
Rielly - Carlo
McCabe - Tanev
OEL - Benning
Stolarz (starter)
Akhtyamov
Anthony Stolarz gets his feet wet for the first time this preseason and is going to be heavily relied on given that
Joseph Woll is currently out indefinitely taking a personal leave of absence.
What This Means for Toronto's Roster Decisions
Also skating tonight is Max Domi, who has had a rough start to his preseason but is looking to bounce back with a strong performance. His placement on the top line is key given that he's been pegged as Auston Matthews' new winger.
Also absent is
Bobby McMann who was not participating in practice or playing tonight, however much like
William Nylander this could be a simple case of maintenance though that is currently undetermined.
It will be interesting to see names like
Borya Valis and Jacob Quillan earn some time, as they will be looked at as key parts of the Marlies system and with a great showing could be first in lines for call-ups.
A notable omission is
Ben Danford, as this is his second straight game he's been scratched as the lineup starts to take shape. Though he earned a lot of praise recently, he may be one of the future cuts as the team thins out their camp.
All in all though, it's going to be an exciting watch as it always is, as we see who is going to potentially break away from the pack and earn themselves a better chance at a roster spot come October.
The game is scheduled to start at 7pm ET and is going to be broadcasted on Sportsnet.
