Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly stirred the pot of trade speculation as it was discovered that he deactivated his Instagram account suddenly.

There's been a lot of discussion recently about Morgan Rielly's future with the Maple Leafs, and whether he'll be a member of the roster come October.
Though he holds a full no-movement clause in his contract, Rielly could end up finding himself with a fresh start, especially if Toronto is thinking of replacing him with another defender or a top-six forward.

Morgan Rielly goes silent on social media

We've also heard news that Rielly wouldn't be willing to move his clause, as he loves the city, wants to be a Maple Leaf for life, and has no intentions of moving whatsoever.
At least, that's what we thought.
Keen eyed fans noticed that Morgan Rielly's personal Instagram page was suddenly deactivated on Saturday, with all links to his account being dead and a simple 'User not found' underneath a blank profile picture.

It was something that a first glance might not be too much of an issue, and Rielly may just simply want to avoid social media during the summer, and may have been dealing with some potential rowdy fans messaging him and decided to step away.
Rielly, who has been with Toronto the last 12 years, has 513 points in 873 games (87 goals, 426 assists) since being drafted 5th overall in 2012.

Toronto a sudden firestorm of rumors, drama, and speculation

However it comes at a time where Rielly's name has been bandied in trade rumors, Ryan Reaves was traded for his comments towards Mitch Marner and his choice to go to Vegas, and Marner himself seemed to be a bit toxic in the locker room towards the end of his tenure.
It's a whole lot of chaos in Toronto and Rielly is dead in the middle of things, so taking a step back for his own sanity might be the best call, but if he is leaving; he might also be trying to get his priorities in order and social media is the last thing on his mind.
It's also in the middle of Brad Treliving trying to figure out how to add to his team up front, get rid of some of his expendable pieces like David Kampf and Calle Jarnkrok, then he's gotta figure out some contracts too.
So while this may just be a whole lot of nothing, where there's smoke, there tends to be a flame, and though it may be a flicker for now.
Things could explode at any minute, with Rielly the fuel for a fiery blockbuster.
