Although he's no longer a member of the Maple Leafs, former forward Mitch Marner is back in the spotlight after his Game 7 comments during last year's postseason came to light.

With Amazon Prime's behind the scenes look at the Toronto Maple Leafs last season, we got a good glimpse into the day to day happenings of the team, their focus on the getting through the regular season grind, and giving fans an inside track on their favorite players throughout the season.
Their second season is focused on Toronto's campaign last year and is expected to be filled with a ton of intensity, surprising moments, and a deep dive into exactly what went wrong for a team who had a stranglehold on the series at one point.

Mitch Marner's Explosive Outburst

But one part that's been floating around social media has fans in an uproar, and it all has to do with someone we thought everyone had moved on from: Mitch Marner.
The video shows Marner throwing essentially a rant (more akin to a temper tantrum) and telling the team to start hitting everyone, and not let Florida run over them.
Start f***ing start hitting everyone. F***ing go for it now. Stop letting them run our f***ing D. Run them!
Colourful language aside, Marner was someone who was trying to throw as many hits as possible in Game 7 with four, it's a bit strange that he was screaming at his teammates who...were hitting the Panthers.
Auston Matthews, Bobby McMann and John Tavares had five hits each, meanwhile Max Domi, Calle Jarnkrok and Morgan Rielly had three each; and those are players you wouldn't expect to lay the body a ton.
Toronto had one less hit in Game 7 than Florida (47 to their 48) and even in their unsightly Game 5 loss, they still put up nearly 50 hits with Bobby McMann and Max Pacioretty with eight apiece.
It's another facet of Marner's locker room toxicity on full display, and it's something that former teammates noted was not only a distraction in the locker room, but genuinely exhausting day in and day out.
You can see the difference now. The team is joking more, they are looser, it looks like for the first time in a long time they are having fun playing the game they love.

Fan Reaction To Marner's Profanity-Laden Tirade

Fans however, growing so very tired of Marner and his antics, took to social media to voice their displeasure:
Who exactly was he talking to? Willy? JT? Matthews?
They're all cut from the same cloth. Guys playing 3rd and 4th line minutes don't play enough to set that tone.
Leaders lead.
Others shared the same sentiment as well, and seemed very fed up with Marner's antics:
Many were pointing out the irony of Marner telling the team to act tougher, when he himself has acted quite the opposite in recent times:
But one things fans were excited about given this bizarre outburst, is that Marner is no longer burdening the team:
One thing is clear when it comes to Mitch Marner, the fans are more than happy that he decided to skip town, and feel the Toronto Maple Leafs are better off without him.
On the scoresheet that might be harder to argue, but when it comes to the locker room, there's no doubt this team is much different without Marner, and much better off too, even if he's still getting attention some three months later.
