Metro Division Team Emerges as Likely Trade Partner if Leafs Decide to Move Nylander
Nylander's Situation in Toronto.
William Nylander's situation continues to be a hot topic among fans. He hasn't signed a deal for next season yet, and he's off to an amazing start with 12 points in eight games.
With the way he's playing, his value will certainly grow. This means that if Treliving signs him, he'll need to pay more. But if he trades him, he could receive more.
For now, it seems that no real decision has been made for him. Either Treliving is waiting for the right trade offer, or he is simply holding off on negotiations. It's clear that both Treliving and Nylander don't want negotiations to affect his performances.

There's still a lot of time to get it done, so that's probably why nothing has happened yet.
Meanwhile, many are exploring trade scenarios. This one sends Nylander to the Columbus Blue Jackets!
Nylander with the Blue Jackets?
The insider Eklund proposed an intriguing idea, sending Nylander to Columbus.
The Blue Jackets have interesting depth in prospects and on the blue line, two things that could interest Treliving.
They currently have eight defensemen on their roster. Moving one of them wouldn't be a huge price for Nylander. But unless they move a top player, they'll need to sweeten the deal with a pick or another player.
Names like
Jack Roslovic or
Kent Johnson would certainly interest the Leafs as well. The Blue Jackets have reportedly been exploring trade options for these players.
Even if this is only a rumor, Columbus could still be an excellent trade partner for Toronto.
