According to a new report, the Minnesota Wild aren't done adding yet even after Quinn Hughes, and if they wanna add some veteran help; Max Domi is their guy.

With the Minnesota Wild making one of the biggest trades in recent memory, it set them on a course to be Stanley Cup contenders, and behind the likes of guys like Quinn Hughes and Kiril Kaprizov; they have a great shot.
GM Bill Guerin isn't afraid of making some wild moves and singings, and if Minnesota is going to hang around the tough Western Conference then they are going to need as much firepower as possible.

Minnesota still wildly aggressive; could target top-six forward

With that being said, a report came out via David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period that explained Guerin's intent going forward even after a blockbuster trade, and mentioned he wasn't done yet:
As a result of acquiring Hughes, he included centre Marco Rossi and left wing Liam Ohgren (along with rookie defenseman Zeev Buium and a 2026 first-round draft pick) and shortened his depth up front - a price Guerin was more than willing to pay.

Now, Guerin remains in the market for some help up front, and may focus on trying to acquire a centre, instead of help on the wings.

While it was certainly a steep price for Hughes, and losing Rossi is tough, there is a center who could be available with postseason experience and credentials, who has over 750 NHL games under his belt, and can help a top-six: Max Domi.

Why Toronto should dangle Max Domi in front of Minnesota

Domi has been pretty underwhelming since his first season with Toronto. He came out with a 43-point season, but then decided not to be the former 20+ goal scorer we've seen and fall off a cliff.
It's led to multiple scratches and a lot of buyer's remorse for his nearly $4-million per year deal. It's not the easiest contract to get rid of, and Domi hasn't exactly been showcasing himself to other teams.
But he can still offer a team a lot when it comes to postseason help and veteran leadership. You can't ask much defensively from him, but with Minnesota already stacked in the back with Hughes, Buium, and Brock Faber; not to mention Jared Spurgeon and Jonas Brodin - they can cover for him.
Domi, 31, still has top-six potential and has shown that he can at least contribute in a secondary role alongside other stars. Even a second-line center spot with no defensive responsibilities might be a great way to maximize his skillset.
For his career, Domi has 462 points in 767 games (141 goals, 321 assists) but is a minus-17 and has been trending worse and worse each season. He's on pace for only eight goals and 31 points; his worst ever and may only get worse.
So it's time that Toronto got rid of him before it really hurts them, and if they can get some assets back from an uber-aggressive Wild team then it'll be a win in the long-run because their short-term window is all but shut.
