Harry Nansi's performance in the first Prospect Showcase game for the Maple Leafs proved that his improvements over the past year are paying off immediately.
Nansi lined up as part of the fourth line for the Maple Leafs during the Prospect Showcase vs. the Ottawa Senators. Despite coming out on the losing end of a 4-3 OT Senators win, Nansi managed to be one of the standouts of the roster.

Toronto's 153rd overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft managed to be one of the better offensive players for the Maple Leafs on Saturday, as he added two assists. Showing immense heart and grit, he was able to win a loose puck, and fire a shot on net that was tipped by teammate Sawyer Boulton, giving him his first assist:

That opened the game's scoring, with Nansi adding another helper later on in the third period, tipping a puck of his own up the ice where Borya Valis managed to give the Maple Leafs a 3-2 lead at the time. He was also on the ice for Luke Haymes' game-tying goal, meaning he was a huge part of the offence in all aspects.
Add in the fact that he's being given a first-line role in the OHL with Owen Sound, and already showcasing his abilities early on - he's going to be one of the key prospects to keep an eye on for the entire season.
Nansi may be Toronto's best prospect that has the most upside
Though we shouldn't jump the shark when it comes to Nansi, there is genuine excitement over what he can be. While he's a slick playmaker who has great instincts, he's also someone who is a towering presence at 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds at only 19.
That type of frame could lead Nansi to be a versatile forward who can play both the centre and wing, while also providing both offensive help and a physical edge. What he was doing wasn't necessarily flashy, but his hard work and IQ led him to find opportunities and capitalize.
Fans are also noticing that his improvements in his skating are glaringly obvious, and that he's in a much better position than he was last year - perfect for a player who is stepping into a much bigger role this upcoming season.
He posted 56 points in 67 games for Owen Sound last year which included 43 assists, and if he can replicate or even improve on that number then the future is likely very bright for Nansi.
The NHL Draft sometimes holds some hidden gems that turn out to be more than anyone could have anticipated and it looks like the Maple Leafs found theirs with Harry Nansi.
