The Toronto Maple Leafs have just revealed that they have placed forward Calle Jarnkrok on Long Term Injury, revealing more bad news regarding the health of their lineup.

Calle Jarnkrok Placed on Long-Term Injured Reserve List

Usually, players are put on LTIR prior to the trade deadline, in order to make space for any pending trades. However, the Toronto Maple Leafs didn't have that strategy this year, clearly. They have just placed forward Calle Jarnkrok on Long Term Injury, as he suffered a hand injury again.

They have also activated Conor Timmins from LTIR

This leaves $1.35M in LTIR relief remaining

Leafs Will Have to Play With Lineup Down the Stretch

The Leafs will need to figure out how this shapes their lineup down the stretch. While Nick Robertson had a good performance last night, scoring a goal in his opportunity to play with Tavares and Knies, the Leafs ultimately lost in a shootout.

They will need to address their Penalty Killing situation, especially if Marner is not in the lineup. With Jarnkrok out, new acquisitions like Connor Dewar will have to step up and show what they can do on the PK.

We will see how the lineup shakes out down the stretch, however, it likely won't look the same as it does today.
