The Toronto Maple Leafs are potentially close to figuring out what to do with Max Domi, after the veteran forward has been basically invisible this series.

As the Leafs head towards Game 6 of the first round, they have a lot of questions they need to answer. Do they end up starting Joseph Woll to give Anthony Stolarz a break? Does Auston Matthews find his lost scoring prowess? Does Max Domi have a spot in the lineup still?
All these and several other questions are out there, and while Domi did play hero in Game Two, he hasn't done too much elsewhere to warrant him sticking in the lineup, and after some contemplation; it's hard to justify it any longer.
Toronto needs improvement and while Domi has ranked at the bottom of the team in terms of xGF%, there's a lot to be said about other people on the roster as well.

Toronto Needs Everyone To Improve But Max Domi May Be The Scapegoat

Bobby McMann has been held goalless, Max Pacioretty is hitting people sure but not hitting the back of the net, Scott Laughton has been decent but not the player that warranted a first round pick and prospect at this point.
Frustration also needs to be directed a bit towards Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner as well, given that combined they only have two goals in the five games. Even in previous seasons, Matthews and Marner were able to put the puck in the net.
Some are even expecting (or hoping) that Domi gets moved in the offseason after yet another year with a bloated contract and minimal results.
This season was one of Domi's worst, with him putting up the second-worst numbers of his career with only 33 points, and while the contract doesn't really matter in the postseason, if the team has three more years of this type of production? Yikes.
Giving players like David Kampf a look might be a good idea, as he hasn't played in five games and could help the team mightily both on the PK and give some of their other stars a bit of a break defensively, and Kampf offers about the same level of offense as Domi truthfully, with more upside.
It's been frustrating for fans to constantly watch a player like Domi, who often looks like he's doing his best out there but continually has nothing to show for it.
So perhaps he deserves a rest, if not to give him a break, but give the fans one for a change.
