Ben Danford was injured on Friday after receving a nasty hit from camp invitee Marshall Finnie.
Fraser Minten meanwhile, was injured on Sunday during the second Prospect Showcase game versus the Montreal Canadiens when he took a nasty crosscheck to the nameplate from the Canadiens' David Reinbacher.
Ben Danford's status for the two game slate was determined to be that they were going to keep the youngster out while he recovers, and now Minten's injury provides more anxiety.
Lance Hornby of The Toronto Sun has provided an update regarding the status of both men on his X account on Sunday evening:
Maple Leafs prospect coach and head coach of the Toronto Marlies, John Gruden stated that there is no update on Fraser Minten and he will be re-evaluated in Toronto once they get back from Montreal; Ben Danford on the other hand they're hopeful he can make the start of main camp and he can get through his upper body injury. It would be exciting to be able to see what both these men can offer on the ice when healthy at the same time; and we could see these two playing together for a very long time if all goes well for the Maple Leafs.
