Some backstage footage shows just how fired up Craig Berube was after his team clinched Game 6, showering them with praise for their work ethic and tireless effort.

With the Maple Leafs set to face the Florida Panthers in Game 7, this is the closest Toronto has been in decades to a potential Stanley Cup berth and certainly the most successful point of the Core Four/Auston Matthews era.
The tension is high, fans are anxious beyond belief, and the team is going to need everyone at their absolute best, and another strong showing from Auston Matthews might be enough to seal the deal.
But as Game 6 concluded, the Maple Leafs had a cause for celebration, and while there was still lots of work to do, Craig Berube took the time to praise his players after their gutsy performance:
Commitment to defense, commitment to checking; that's the difference in the game.

You guys skated, competed, battled. At home same mentality. Determination, second and third effort. That's everything. Good job. Fkin right.
It isn't surprising to see Berube use some colourful language, but he had a lot to be proud of.

Toronto's Defense Pays Huge Dividends; Needs Repeat Performance In Game 7

Toronto blocked a season-high 21 shots, and found a huge defensive effort from everyone involved, but especially their penalty kill.
After taking some pretty arguable calls, the Leafs were able to keep Florida at bay and left them scrambling to figure out what to do, killing off four penalties including one just shortly after Auston Matthews opened the scoring.
A prime example of the team's effort on defense is when Scott Laughton skated 200 feet in order to catch Florida off guard in the offensive zone and throw them off their game.
It's those types of efforts that allow Toronto the chance to win and it's a stark turnaround from the Sheldon Keefe run teams of the past.
All that fans are hoping for is that Berube's words resonate heavily with the team, and they can't afford a complacent effort after such a rollercoaster series; they have to win and they have to make history.
It wasn't the first time Berube was able to rally the troops, giving a fiery speech in a similar vein during St. Louis' run to the Cup in 2018.
If the team can take away the same thing the Blues did way back when, then it feels like this could truly be their year.
Let's just hope that Berube's words don't fall on deaf ears.
