Some Toronto Maple Leafs fans are done with getting frustrated with the players and have started to direct their ire towards MLSE CEO Keith Pelley.

The Brendan Shanahan era was ended this offseason as the Toronto Maple Leafs elected to not renew his contract, instead allowing Craig Berube and Brad Treliving to work together to build the team.
But there's a third party that seems to be overlooked at times, that being Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment CEO Keith Pelley.
He's taken a hands off approach to the team, allowing the other management staff to handle business, but it seems like his inaction has begun to spark some criticism from fans online.

How Keith Pelley suddenly became the focus of Leafs fans' anger

Taking to X, some fans have mentioned that Pelley's leadership has been ineffective thus far.
All fan comments in this story come from public posts on X and reflect individual opinion.
Some fans questioned whether leadership is fully aware of how the team has played:
Major changes are coming in the Leafs organization if Keith Pelley gets cable
Some fans are pointing to a full roster and team shakeup, calling for several players and coaches to be let go:
Players that need to be dealt: Domi, Rielly, Marcelli

Coaches: Berube and Lalonde
MLSE has not publicly addressed the recent spike in fan criticism, and Keith Pelley has not issued any comment in response.
A combination of poor roster construction, a system that doesn't fit that roster, expensive contracts and inconsistent production has some fans exhausted and we're only 24 games into the season.
People are tired of pointing their fingers at players, and there's only so much the coach can do with the pieces given. Brad Treliving is under a lot of pressure, and some are realizing the issues extend beyond just the team itself.
Some fans argue the organization has often prioritized the short term over the long term, and now that they're in a position to benefit from past moves -- they can't.

The risk if Pelley waits too long to act

It's unlikely that any front-office changes happen immediately, but some fans are still demanding action and the organization may risk disconnecting from its fanbase who has gone through years of struggles just for a taste of success.
This is a group of passionate, dedicated fans who pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars to watch this team year in and year out only to be let down every time.
There's only so much people can take and we've already seen many fans throwing jerseys on the ice, leaving games early, and even those who do stick around don't have much to cheer for.
He also risks wasting the prime of at least two of the team's greatest players in Auston Matthews and William Nylander. He's got John Tavares but age waits for no one, and Matthew Knies -- a potential future leader -- is set up with no real pieces to help him.
It's a tough pill to swallow for Leafs Nation who just want this team to be successful and fun to watch without all the drama.
For the NHL's most valuable franchise, some fans feel their frustration is growing, and the Maple Leafs could lose some very passionate people along the way.
