During their latest battle with the Boston Bruins, the Toronto Maple Leafs went down 3-1 in their first-round series, but all of the talk since that has been the encounter on the Leafs bench. With Mitch Marner showing his frustration, fellow star William Nylander had clearly had enough, with cameras picking up No. 88 screaming in Marner's direction «stop f**king crying».
Fans on social media had to do some lip reading to pick up exactly what he said, but there may no longer be a need, as TSN's Chris Johnston has revealed that Nylander was mic'd up during the game and still went ahead with his impassioned plea on the bench.
As Johnston goes on to say, it's highly unlikely that the footage will ever be released by Toronto or the NHL, but it would be very intriguing to hear more of what went into this encounter on the bench.
