Chris Johnston revealed on his podcast 'The CJ Show' that he is under the impression that the Toronto Maple Leafs might not be a good fit for Jack Roslovic.

It's been the talk of the offseason, but the Jack Roslovic saga has seemingly not even come close to its conclusion, as we learned he recently refused a deal with Edmonton as concerns mount about what exactly his motivation and mindset is.
He did just switch agents because clearly, something wasn't working and in the hopes of landing a new deal, he could be closer now that's he got a new representative in tow.

Roslovic's Fit Not With Maple Leafs: Insider Reports

Chris Johnston certainly believes a deal could be in the works shortly, and on his podcast named a few teams who certainly could use the forward but surprisngly left out the biggest name attached to the forward: Toronto.
Montreal's a team that's talked about looking for a center; Vancouver; these teams have been around Roslovic at various points; I don't see the Leafs as being as much a fit right now; they have too many forwards.

While Maple Leafs fans would certainly hope that Roslovic decides to head out west as opposed to potentially torching the team with their division rivals, it makes sense why Johnston believes Toronto is a less than ideal team.

Why Toronto Doesn't Need Jack Roslovic To Be Successful

It's not that they aren't competitive but that internal competition in camp is going to make things really difficult for Roslovic, especially the longer he holds out. Toronto already has one preseason game with several in the next couple weeks, so he'll have barely any time to acclimate if he signs.
At that point there is no idea if he can replicate his 22-goal season last year, and it would be a waste of money if they spend a few million for a player who might score 10 goals; that's about what Max Pacioretty did but at a third of the price.
Plus where do you fit him in?
You've already got Nick Robertson, David Kampf and Calle Jarnkrok all trying to keep their spot, Easton Cowan and Jacob Quillan are making a big push, and the team brought in four names this offseason that can play regular minutes (Nic Roy, Dakota Joshua, Michael Pezzetta, Matias Maccelli).
There is plenty of talent within the Toronto system that can offer the same type of help Roslovic can at a fraction of the cost, and actually utilize their prospects instead of letting them stagnate.
So while it's been interesting to see Roslovic's journey this offseason, it seems his next path leads him away from the blue and white.
