The Toronto Maple Leafs fans were hyped when Brad Treliving signed the forward Tyler Bertuzzi to a one-year contract last summer.

Everyone thought he'd be a great addition to the team, but unfortunately, his contributions have been a bit underwhelming for now. The 28-year-old forward scored 21 points, including six goals in 50 games this season.

With only a few months left to his $5,500,000 contract, questions about his future in the organization are raising.

In a recent episode of the Empty Netters podcast, Kypreos mentionned that the Maple Leafs' left wingers are underwhelming, including Tyler Bertuzzi.

According to him, he could be a part of a bigger deal at the deadline for the Leafs.

"I look at Bertuzzi right now, and if they're not interested in resigning him, yes. I think he could be something that could be in play, part of a bigger pack, interesting him out and being replaced of some significance at all."

If Treliving believes he'll lose Bertuzzi in the summer, trading him now would make sense.

However, he's not in a situation where he can ask for a big raise at the end of the season. If he agrees on a low salary, he could stay with the Leafs.

Brad Treliving will need to make a decision. If he can get someone better by including Bertuzzi in a package, he should do it.

The deadline is in less than a month and Leafs fans hope that Treliving does the right thing.

Do you think the Maple Leafs should trade Tyler Bertuzzi before the deadline?
