When speaking to media post-game, Woll tried to reassure fans that he was not injured and that sometimes during a game things don't exactly go to plan:
«I'm totally fine. Sometimes quick plays like that mess something up, but it goes away."
It's a massive relief that Woll isn't injured, as Toronto cannot afford to have any more injures especially to their goaltending. Beyond Woll the only backstops are Dennis Hildeby who is inexperienced, and Matt Murray who isn't NHL-ready.
Given the reigns to lead the Maple Leafs in Stolarz's absence, Woll has struggled in recent games but has put together a solid year with a 11-5-1 record with a 2.48 GAA and .913 SV%. Having signed a large extension with Toronto, he's expected to be their netminder of the future; so long as he stays healthy.
The team needs to rely heavily on Woll especially if their once stout defense begins to falter. They've gotten careless as of late and Woll will need all the help he can get especially if he's at risk for injury.
Toronto is not going to trade for a goaltender however they should keep their eye on the waiver wire if any netminders pass through. If Brad Treliving and company can find a suitable replacement for Murray and Hildeby, it will pay huge dividends for the team come playoff time.
