David Booth is long gone from the NHL but is still playing hockey, surprisingly in Australia, where he's come into the league to absolutely dominate the competition.

While not as common as other professional hockey leagues, the AIHL or the Australian International Hockey League still puts out as much entertaining hockey as they can, and trying to expose the game to a whole new audience.
Sure, we don't hear much about the league as a whole, but they currently have some pretty eye-popping stats, and is a great mix of veterans, young talent, and those who play simply for the love of the game.

David's Dominance: Booth Destroying AIHL

One former NHL player who decided to make the jump is David Booth, and the former Maple Leafs forward has since come in and absolutely dominated to the tune of 50 points in 11 games.
No, that was not a typo, Booth is averaging 2.27 goals and assists through his minimal time with the Melbourne Ice, and is sitting seventh in points.
While they have only played 25 games, there are some players like Tanner Hopps; a 25-year old forward who has exploded for 63 points, or you have journeyman player Evgenii Skachkov; a former KHL star who has continued his career in Australia, still putting up 49 points in 17 games.
Booth, 40, had 236 points in 520 career NHL games (124 goals, 112 assists) while spending time with Florida, Vancouver, Toronto, and Detroit. His best season came in 2008-09 where he scored 60 points in 73 games (31 goals, 29 assists).
He only spent one season with the Maple Leafs, skating in 59 games with 13 points (7 goals, 6 assists); he was drafted 53rd overall by the Panthers in 2004.
For the AIHL, it's great they have former NHL players like Booth to expose fans to the game, and show them that even players who reached glory long ago can still come in and try to grow the game for everyone.
Who knows who the next former NHLer is to come in and take the league by storm, and Booth is just an example of what you can accomplish through hard work and passion.
I wonder what Jaromir Jagr's doing.
