Former Leafs Star Confirms He Wants to Return to Toronto This Summer
If the Maple Leafs find a way to have both Luke Schenn and James Van Riemsdyk on their roster at the same time, they will have officially won their 2012 trade.
Schenn returned to Toronto in March, and now JVR has revealed in an interview that he could be next.
JVR Willing to Return to Toronto
JVR joined The Leafs Nation podcast for a tell-all interview. The winger, who was a member of the Leafs for six seasons, was asked whether a reunion could be in the cards this summer:
"We'll see what happens, ultimately you wanna be in a place where you're wanted. Speaking out of experience of being there last time, it was amazing, unbelievable, and something I'll always cherish. Going off of that, that was all great... most importantly you want to be a good fit with the organization and the coaching staff and how you fit in with all that stuff. We'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks but my experience playing in Toronto was something I'll always cherish and something I'll look back at fondly and definitely something I really enjoyed."
He has certainly regressed since his first stint in Toronto, but he could be a cheap bottom-six scoring option.
Him saying that his time in Toronto was unbelievable and amazing definitely makes thing seem like he wants to come back.
