Love him or hate him, Kyle Dubas was a huge part of the current era of the Toronto Maple Leafs. His decisions shaped the team's present and future. Unfortunately, not all his decisions were good ones.

Perhaps the most notable former Leaf of the Kyle Dubas era is Zach Hyman. The Oilers winger has developed into one of the more consistent goal-scoring threats in the league since he joined the team. This season, he recorded his first career 50-goal season, making Dubas and the Maple Leafs regret letting him walk.

FIFTY GOALS FOR ZACH HYMAN THIS SEASON 🚨

That being said, Hyman is far from the only notable former Leaf to be excelling with their new team. The Dallas Stars added Mason Marchment ahead of the 2022-23 season and he has since become part of one of the better lines in hockey alongside Matt Duchene and Tyler Seguin. He recently recorded his first career 20-goal season with a goal against the Sharks earlier this week.
A memorable 20th goal of the season for Mason Marchment in San Jose!
Kings forward Trevor Moore has also developed into quite the player after the Leafs gave up on him four years ago. His points-per-game pace has skyrocketed since joining the Kings and this year he's found a new goal-scoring touch, potting a career-high 26 goals with the team so far this season.
These are just a few of the players that have excelled since Kyle Dubas gave up on them. There are still several more players that have had successful career since leaving the Leafs including Nazem Kadri, who helped the Colorado Avalanche win a Stanley Cup in 2022. Kadri has 23 goals and 61 points in 72 games with the Calgary Flames this season. These are just a handful of players that slipped through the Leafs' system. Hopefully Brad Treliving will not make the same mistake in letting players of this caliber leave the team on a consistent basis.
