Things certainly got heated during the first game of the Battle of Ontario as a fire caused things to temporarily take a halt.

While the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators took the ice for the first game of the first round Stanley Cup Playoffs series, it was already a hot atmosphere as both teams look to succeed and make a deep run.
But things got a little too literal as a fire broke out in Scotiabank Arena's 300 level section, causing things to be halted a moment while things were attended to. Firefighters arrived and contained the situation in what could have been a disaster.
Thankfully things were taken care of before it got out of hand, and no one was injured.
It could have gotten a lot worse if things weren't looked at immediately, and it's thankful that modern day arenas and venues have not only top of the line fire protection, but the quality of the arena construction itself is a huge factor.
When stadium fires break out (most commonly at soccer pitches), sometimes the facilities are decades behind repair or improvement and one faulty spark, or careless patron can cause some serious damage.
It didn't deter fans from leaving their seats and while their passion is undeniable, it's always better to air on the side of caution.
