A new highlight reel showcasing Maple Leafs prospect Victor Johansson has fans excited about his potential as he showed some serious brilliance during the World Junior Summer Showcase.
There has been a lot of focus on Toronto Maple Leafs defensive prospect Victor Johansson over the last couple of weeks.
Since being invited to the World Junior Summer Showcase, he's impressed coaches, teammates, scouts, and fans and pretty much earned his spot with Team Sweden.
Though he is still a bit of a ways away from joining the Maple Leafs, Johansson's progress has been outstanding, and there's some serious hype surrounding a player who was a 161st overall pick and was looked at as seriously underweight.

However, there's good reason why Toronto ended up taking a chance on him, and some new highlights show the type of offensive prowess he can bring, and looked like a veteran at times; always calm and making the right play.
Fans are getting excited on social media about what he could bring to the table and may be a diamond in the rough for the Maple Leafs.
Johansson ended up with three points in the tournament (1 goal, 2 assists) and was part of a Sweden team that essentially dominated from the get go.
Why Leafs Fans Should Be Paying Attention
But it's a huge step in his growth as a player, and representing Sweden will certainly give him a lot of confidence this season, and is putting doubters to rest.
When he was drafted, he came in at just over 140 pounds; a very light player by any pro hockey standards, but it was due to a medical condition he has since worked through, and while there are still growing pains, he's added 20 pounds and is still adding bulk.
He's going to be a huge part of Leksands' team this season and will look to help the team fight for SHL glory, and if he can be a big part over there, it'll make him even more valuable and keep fans eager to see him.
Plus with an aging defensive core, he and guys like Ben Danford and Noah Chadwick are going to be stars for the team in the future, so the quicker they can improve the better.
It seems the sky's the limit for Victor Johansson, and he's set on a path to make the Maple Leafs sooner than later, but the next stop is World Junior Gold.
