Toronto Maple Leafs top prospect Easton Cowan has finished his junior career, and he capped it off with a Memorial Cup MVP; just like Mitch Marner did years earlier as the two share some remarkable history.
The 2025 Memorial Cup between the London Knights and Medicine Hat Tigers was set to be a tight-knit affair, however the Knights dominated from pillar to post and came out with the 4-1 victory.
Easton Cowan earns Memorial Cup MVP; Joins Mitch Marner

Who else led the way but Easton Cowan, who finished with a tournament-high seven points (4G, 3A) over five games and had a goal in the Cup Finals, and was the recipient of the Stafford Smythe Memorial Trophy as the Memorial Cup MVP.

He joins fellow (for now) Maple Leaf Mitch Marner as not only two of the Knights' greatest players, but both men have a Memorial Cup MVP, and it almost feels like Cowan is the second coming of Marner.
Drafted 28th overall in 2023, Cowan caps off a fantastic four seasons with the Knights, including a blistering 218 points over the last three (83G, 135A).
Next stop for Easton Cowan: Toronto

There's nowhere else for him really to go except make his way onto the Maple Leafs.
He's already proven to be a dynamic, game-changing forward who could not only bring a lot of youth to a fairly older lineup, but if he's as any good as Marner was; could be a massive boost in offense.
Nothing is guaranteed, and Brad Treliving would certainly like to make sure he has as many NHL-ready players as possible, but there's no denying the talent Cowan would bring.
Plus, Toronto hasn't hesitated to bring up young guys, and if Fraser Minten is able to earn a spot, there's no doubt that Cowan can.
But it all depends on who the club brings in this free agency and whether or not there will be a spot saved for him next year, or if the team prefers some smaller-value veterans.
One thing is for certain though: Easton Cowan is one of the London Knights' greatest players, and he proved it once again with his latest accomplishments.
