In light of a recent incident involving Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly, Cherry once again shared his point of view, which divides hockey fans.
In a game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators, the Leafs lost 5-3, with the Sens' last goal being an empty-netter in the last few seconds of the third period.
The goal has attracted its share of controversy, as Ridley Greig scored with a slap-shot while he was alone in the zone and standing a few feet from the net.
After the goal, the Leafs' defenseman Morgan Rielly wasn't happy at all and he dangerously hit Greig as he was returning to his bench.

Much like the Maple Leafs head coach, who defended Rielly's actions after the game against the Senators, Cherry took the Leafs' side. He was even glad that he did it.

Cherry might have taken into consideration that Rielly isn't a dirty player and don't often gets involved in such incidents before sharing his opinion.
