The Toronto Maple Leafs player David Kampf is proving to be a valuable trade piece in the ongoing World Championship in Czechia.
Kampf, who played 78 games and scored 19 points, including eight goals with the Leafs this season, is leaving a great impression representing Czechia at the Worlds. He played a big role in helping his team clinch their way to the Finals:
in eight games, he tallied one goal and five assists.

"David Kampf scored a goal, an assist, and was a plus-4 in 16:14 in Czechia's 7-3 semifinal win over Sweden today.
Kampf will play for gold on home ice tomorrow. He has one international medal, a bronze at the 2022 Worlds.
Totals (WC): 8 GP, 1 G, 6 PTS, +8"

Even if Kampf still has three years left on his $2,400,000 AAV contract in Toronto, which includes a no-movement clause for the next two seasons, his great performances at the Worlds could help Brad Treliving pull off a trade.
With all the changes expected in the Leafs roster, Kampf could be an interesting piece to move for Toronto. Even if Treliving ends up with only a draft pick in return, it would still free up cap space, a contract spot, room on the lineup for another potential acquisition or giving an opportunity to one of their prospects.
