Craig Berube suffered a gym accident, and his new look has everyone talking
Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube found himself on the end of an accident in the gym, and it left him with quite the new look that has everybody talking.
It's not too often you hear about the head coach of a hockey team falling victim to an injury, as that's reserved for the players who tend to be on the ice a lot more than the coach.
But for Craig Berube, it seems like the gym had it out for him during his latest workout, as he seemed to have suffered some type of accident that left him sporting a new look.
Craig Berube's unfortunate gym accident leaves quite the new facade
Not only did the coach have a black eye, but pulled off his cap to reveal a massive scar that was stitched up -- covering a pretty good portion of his head:
It was a gruesome looking injury that Berube explained was completely on him:
I'll address it since you'll see it tonight. I just got in an accident at the gym, but the other guys look way worse [laughs]. It was just stupid, just a bad accident, completely my fault and yeah; I'm fine.
There is no indication of what exactly went down and luckily Berube walked away relatively unscathed and for someone who is known for his toughness; it's not surprising.
The fact the coach could laugh about things and make light of the situation is always a good sign and it'll just seemingly be something for the boys to rib their coach with at times, keeping the mood light.
Fans were wondering exactly what happened, having a bit of fun on social media and making some pretty keen comparisons:
Some were stunned that Berube was so casual in his explanation, as a regular person likely would have been down for the count:
All in all, Berube looks worse for wear however it won't be an issue going forward -- just another strange little footnote in an already weird season.
