Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube issued a huge update regarding Chris Tanev's injury and safe to say fans can breathe a bit of much-needed relief.

Though the Leafs came away with the victory on Tuesday, the team lost Chris Tanev to a potentially serious injury, and also have some potential concerns about some other players dealing with some ailments as well.
So with bated breath, fans awaited an update regarding the rearguard and were hoping for the best, but expected the worst.
However, they can breathe easier thanks to a new update from head coach Craig Berube, who stated Tanev's injury isn't serious although he's unlikely to play their next game, and avoided a season-altering bit of bad news.

The Maple Leafs Avoid Serious Disaster

It's a huge positive for the team given that not only is Tanev the glue that holds the team's blueline together, but the team has already dealt with so many injuries this season that this would have been the icing on the cake.
Toronto doesn't play until Friday night, and it's good that the team gets a couple days rest anyways given how tired a lot of their players are.
The team could also see the return of Max Pacioretty, who has been dealing with an unspecified ailment.
But avoiding such a huge blow with Tanev not expected to miss time is something of a miracle for the team given that seemingly the most innocent looking injuries can cause the biggest time off (just ask Anthony Stolarz).
With the team avoiding a catastrophic blow to their blueline, their attention can shift to weathering the New York Rangers and give their wounded another day off to heal before they play the Penguins on Sunday.
The team also luckily avoided some serious issues with William Nylander, as his absence in overtime grew concerning but reports have stated that he's going to be just fine.
It's a huge relief for fans as the team can finally start to get tp full health and put forth a strong push toward not only becoming Atlantic Division Champions, but potentially Stanley Cup ones too.
