Craig Berube Confirms Lineup Change for Upcoming Game Against the Kings
Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube admitted there's going to be changes ahead of Saturday's tilt against the Los Angeles Kings as the team needs to rebound badly.
There has to be some changes though, and the team can't allow five goals to the worst team in the league and have any hope of progressing past the first round.
That will start on Saturday night as head coach Craig Berube has assured that there will be some starting with the lineup, more specifically
Pontus Holmberg, who finds himself back in after being a scratch.
Pontus Holmberg In, But Who He Replaces Is Still A Mystery
It's unknown which forward will be scratched, but the possibilities are anyone from Nick Robertson to
Calle Jarnkrok, and perhaps even
David Kampf; though if Toronto needs defense he should probably be in.
Holmberg will hopefully be able to bring a bit of offense and much needed defense, and perhaps he can use his innate ability to draw penalties to give the Maple Leafs a few extra advantages.
It will be his first game since playing against Nashville on March 22, and wasn't really too impactful over his last five games. He did enjoy a stretch where he flashed some offensive chops, but it's been extremely inconsistent.
Over 58 games this season,
Holmberg has 15 points (6G, 9A) but his defense has slipped a bit, he's taking more penalties (though drawing a ton too) and has often found himself a healthy scratch.
But he'll get a chance to figure it out against the Kings on Saturday night, a team where he's had some success with one point in three games, and will look to add to that when Toronto visits the Crypto.com Arena.
