With the Maple Leafs acquiring Dakota Joshua from the Canucks, the Vancouver fans were outraged given they lost not only a fan favorite, but a great player to boot.

It was a trade that may not have fans jumping out of their seats, but with the Maple Leafs bringing in Dakota Joshua they added a tough as nails but offensively talented bottom-six forward who can slot in either the third or fourth line.
Known for being a massive physical presence, and having that passion and grit Craig Berube loves, he's going to cause problems for everyone he faces; which will helps loads against Florida.

Comment Section Explodes with Frustration from Canucks Supporters

While Maple Leafs fans aren't necessarily familiar with the game that Joshua brings, the Canucks Army certainly does, and if their recent comments on the Steve Dangle Podcast are any indication; the Leafs got a good one.
Taking a look at the comment section of Dangle's discussion of Joshua's acquisition, it seems that fans were fairly upset at losing a fan favorite.
Canucks fan here, you guys are going to love Dakota Joshua. Brings a lot of character, and is surely going to be a fan favourite. Please treat him well. - nicholaslouie7590

Dakota Joshua should really fit in with Berube. I hope he thrives there and I say this as a Canucks fan. - BrotherAlpha

I'll miss Dakota Joshua. He was great in the playoffs and has great passion - ardenenglish8736

Social media is also rampant with Canucks fans being upset over the trade:
One thing is certain, it seems the Maple Leafs may have found a gem in Joshua, and it's clear the fans are in for a treat.

Why Leafs Fans Should Be Excited About What Joshua Brings

That treat is going to come in several ways, first and foremost being his physicality. He's a menace on the ice, will give you 200 hits a season, has the potential to score 10-15 goals, is insanely tough not only on the ice but off it.
Joshua was able to fight through and beat testiucular cancer to make a comeback, and the Leafs fans love a good comeback story. They are going to see a motivated and healthy Joshua ready to show everyone why he's such a unique player.
He's got more playoff goals than Mitch Marner over the past two seasons as well, and if fans can't get excited about a playoff performer who can actually be clutch; then they should probably stop watching the team altogether.
You can see the intangibles that Joshua brought to the community too, and with such a diverse community in Toronto, there's no doubt they'll fall in love with him quickly.
Joshua, 29, had 14 points in 57 games after returning from recovering from cancer, but had an 18-goal outburst the season prior, adding 245 hits as well in a great blend of scoring and physicality.
The Canucks and Maple Leafs square off on January 10 in Toronto and January 31st in Vancouver, so all eyes are going to be on Joshua's return; especially on the 31st.
So welcome to Toronto, Dakota. It's not going to be long before you've got a whole new slew of fans ready to watch your comeback story.
