Morgan Rielly faced the NHL's Department of Player Safety recently and was handed a five-game suspension, but now he is appealing and will meet with the NHL.
Morgan Rielly's appeal to Gary Bettman set for Friday
Despite being a relatively clean player for the majority of his NHL career, Morgan Rielly was handed a five-game suspension for his cross-check to the face of the Ottawa Senators Ridley Greig.
Now, he will officially be appealing the suspension, with TSN's Chris Johnston revealing that it will be held in person at noon-ET on Friday with Commissioner Gary Bettman.
The hearing for Morgan Rielly's suspension appeal to NHL commissioner Gary Bettman is scheduled for noon ET tomorrow in New York.
Given his history, it's possible that Rielly can have the suspension either overturned or reduced, but with the amount of media coverage that this incident received, absolutely anything could happen when Rielly and the Commissioner meet.
