Ilya Samsonov defies Brad Treliving, fails to report to Marlies
Goaltender Ilya Samsonov was assigned to the AHL yesterday and was not seen at the Marlies practice today.
Two days ago, Ilya Samsonov was placed on waivers by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Yesterday, he cleared waivers and was sent down to the AHL to play with the Toronto Marlies.
Ilya Samsonov has cleared waivers and will join the Toronto Marlies.
He won't play in any games this week. The Leafs/Marlies team are going to work with him on and off the ice to get his confidence & game back.
Today, it was expected that Samsonov would be practicing with the Marlies but he was not seen in attendance.
Ilya Samsonov is not on the ice at Marlies practice. Sounds like, as of right now, he won't be practicing with the team this week.
There is a solid chance that this is because Samsonov is working off the ice with specialists but to see him away from practice certainly raises red flags.
More details on the situation to come.
