On Monday, Toronto Maple Leafs winger Bo Groulx was placed on waivers, and just moments ago, we got word on whether or not he's going to the Toronto Marlies.
After seven games with zero points for the Maple Leafs this season, Bo Groulx was placed on waivers as John Tavares looks to mount a comeback.
There was some anticipation amongst Leafs Nation to see if he would end up being claimed by another team. Just moments ago, we got our answer.
According to Elliotte Friedman, Groulx has cleared waivers, meaning he will be going down to the AHL in short order. Quite frankly, it is an outcome that was to be expected.

Given the fact that Groulx is not the kind of player who has shown enough in order to be a consistent NHL forward, it should come as no surprise that teams wouldn't be looking to pick him up as a gap-filler.
If you claim a player off waivers, they have to be on the NHL roster first, and there were simply no teams that had the space to do such a thing.
What is next for Bo Groulx?
One has to wonder what is next for the forward when you consider how he is not getting the NHL opportunities he was probably hoping for.
At 26 years old, time is simply running out for him to show that he can truly be a player in the top league in the world. With that in mind, you have to question if maybe the Leafs franchise is simply not right for him.
Their roster is rock solid right now, especially when it comes to forward depth. That said, there are very few opportunities for Groulx to get himself in the lineup.
It is a harsh reality that has afflicted numerous Maple Leafs prospects in the past, including people like Marshall Rifai, who struggle to make the roster.
In the coming weeks and months, there will be a much clearer picture of what Groulx's standing within the franchise is going to look like.
Do you believe Bo Groulx can be a force in the NHL?
