Although he was able to stay in the game after taking a knee on knee hit from Nick Cousins, it was a worrying sign for Jacob Quillan during Toronto's practice.

It was a close game on Saturday between the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs but it was the Nation's capital that took the 2-1 victory over the blue and white after Shane Pinto scored a controversial, though legal game-winning goal.
But it was also heated early on as Ottawa's Nick Cousins took liberties and laid in a knee on knee hit to the debuting Jacob Quillan. Cousins got the worst of the exchange, and Quillan stayed in the game.
At Maple Leafs Practice on Tuesday however, is telling a potentially worrying story.

Jacob Quillan Part Of Injury Group In Practice As Concerns Grow

It's been a rough ride for the Leafs recently, having lost John Tavares, Matthew Knies, and Max Pacioretty, dealing with Anthony Stolarz's absence (although he's on the road to a return very soon), and now have to contend with one of their replacements going down.
Quillan earned the call-up from the Marlies after a blistering 11 points in 14 games and was showcasing fantastic IQ at both ends of the ice. He was brought in to replace Pacioretty; who was also seen skating though in a regular jersey in a small positive for Toronto.
Tavares and Knies are also skating in non-contact jerseys while the team figures out their timeline for a return.
If Quillan is going to be out, it adds more pressure for Toronto to bring in some forward insurance via the trade market or free agency.
When the replacements need replacing, the depth starts to get stretched very thin and we are getting into a critical part of the season.
The Maple Leafs are going to head back home as losers of two in a row and up against a very tough Minnesota team. The team needs to get their players healthy ASAP, and with what we saw in practice; insurance is more important than ever.
