Auston Matthews revealed how he suffered his injury in the playoffs during his end-of-season media availability.

An undisclosed illness forced the Leafs' superstar to miss the fifth and sixth games of the series.

As we often see in post-season interviews, Matthews revealed some details about his condition. He stated that he was dealing with a flu-like virus. However, he remained elusive and didn't want to share the full informations.

He added that the illness wasn't the only thing bothering him. In game 4, he took a hit that forced him to be sidelined.

Here's what he said:

" I got really sick before Game 2. Was trying to recover going into Game 3. In Game 4, I took a weird hit and couldn't go any longer. That is as detailed as I am going to get into it. It was tough. Really frustrating. Sucks. It was killing me to watch."
