The Leafs and the Bruins will compete tonight for the last time of the season tonight in Boston. For one of them, their playoff run will end; the other will reach the second round and face the Florida Panthers.
A new development could help the Leafs get the upper hand on the Bruins.
According to multiple reporters, Matthews was on the ice this morning for the team practice:
Matthews has been sidelined since the fourth game between the Leafs and the Bruins. There's been a lot of mystery surrounding his condition, and it's hard to guess if he'll be able to play in game 7.
However, his presence at the morning skate is a good sign.
While the Leafs managed to win their last two games without him, getting him back in the line up would clearly boost their chances.
With the Bruins looking to avoid blowing a 3-1 lead for the second consecutive season, the pressure is all over them. If the Leafs can keep the same mindset that they had going into the last two games, they could very well reach the second round.
More to come.
