Toronto media Proposes wild William Nylander trade with the rival Canadiens

Over the past few years, Nylander has become every bit as important to the Maple Leafs as the rest of the core four, but now, with no deal in place as training camp looms, it appears he could be on the move.

We've seen links to Calgary, New York and many other teams, but now, Toronto media personalities have taken it upon themselves to suggest something wild: a blockbuster deal with the Montreal Canadiens.

Today, Toronto journalist Michael Traikos has brought Nylanders name up in discussions about the Canadiens, and unsurprisingly, he's included perhaps their biggest name.

Would Montreal do this? Would Toronto? At this point, it's highly unlikely that a trade like this would ever take place, as the Canadiens aren't looking to offload their youth as they build for the future, and for Toronto, they will either be looking at a win-now piece in a trade, or taking back future assets for other deals to save them cap space.

Ultimately, this one is just too wild, and neither team would even take these discussions seriously, but with Nylander yet signed, it's not shocking to see him continually linked to big time deals.
