Sheldon Keefe Calls Out Matt Murray After a Tough Game
Matt Murray has been playing some of the worst hockey of his career lately. Sheldon Keefe has had enough.
Keefe Calls Out Murray
After a 5-3 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes, where the Leafs outshot the Canes 44-28, Sheldon Keefe had to point blame somewhere.
Murray's .821 save percentage was an easy thing to blame, as it was the main reason for the Leafs loss.
Keefe made these comments after the game:
"I thought he did a good job for us. But of course, it's difficult to win with any sort of regularity if you have to score more than four. Matt's got to find a way to keep one or two of those out."
Carrying a worrying .885 save percentage in the calendar year, along with a 3.68 GAA, Murray just can't be depended on anymore.
Many can agree that this eleven game streak indicates a shift towards Ilya Samsonov for the playoffs.
Overall, Murray needs to turn things around, and quick. If he doesn't, it will become a very complicated situation in Toronto.
