The Toronto Maple Leafs come into the 2023-24 season full of optimism, and understandably so, but if they can find production out of their top prospects, their chances of a deep playoff run increase in a drastic way.

Forgotten Top Prospect

While many will look at Matthew Knies as the player that needs to step up next season, there's one somewhat forgotten top prospect that still has the ability to make an impact, and that's Nick Robertson.



Unfortunately, the younger brother of Jason has dealt with many injuries over the past few years, playing just 31 NHL games for 7 points, but at 21-years of age, he's still got plenty of time to grow and develop.

The perfect match

Now, ahead of one of the most important seasons of his career, the folks at Editor in Leaf have suggested the perfect pairing, and that's Max Domi, who could be the man to unlock Robertson's talent.


After losing Michael Buntings cheap production, someone will need to step up, and if Robertson can stay healthy, playing alongside a poised veteran like Domi could unlock his fantastic shot and calculated talent, and with spots in the bottom-six up for grabs, it may be the thing that saves his Maple Leafs career. Max Domi is a highly skilled playmaker capable of dishing the puck in high danger areas where Robertson can finish. It will be interesting to see how things play out but all signs point towards some great chemistry between the two.
