One Player That Could Solve All the Maple Leafs and Kyle Dubas Problems

The Toronto Maple Leafs have already proved that they're going all in this year. After many losses in the playoffs in the last years, Kyle Dubas showed that he's willing to make significant trades to bolster his lineup. Even after the acquisitions of Ryan O'Reilly and Noel Acciari, it seems the Leafs are still in the buyer's market.

Another big trade happened recently. Last night, the Washington Capitals and the Boston Bruins made a deal. It involved the Caps sending defenseman Dmitry Orlov and winger Garnet Hathaway to the Bruins in exchange for draft picks and veteran winger Craig Smith.

This signaled the whole league that Washington are willing to sell players. If they are, the Leafs must rise to the occasion.

Their potential ideal target: Tom Wilson.

Wilson, known for his physical play and ability to put up points, could be a valuable addition to the Maple Leafs lineup. Despite his controversial on-ice behavior, there is no denying his skill and the impact he can have on a team. He could bring what the Leafs have been seeking for a long time: a scorer with some grit.

His physical and aggressive style of play makes him a valuable player in the playoffs, where games often become more physical and intense. Throughout the 96 playoff games of his career, he scored 16 goals and 16 assists, has a +3 and 290 penalty minutes.

Even if the cost is high, Wilson could be a more than interesting option for Kyle Dubas. The Capitals could be opened to trade him, as there's only one year left in his six-year $31-million contract.
