Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Robertson suffered what was believed to be a season-ending injury earlier this season, sparking concern among fans and management alike. When a prospect with as much hype as Robertson has struggled to cement a roster spot for himself year after year, and then suffers a major setback like this, it begins to raise questions about his future with the team.

The Leafs are rapidly approaching the end of the season, and a presumed first round match-up against the Tampa Bay Lightning. With notable trade deadline additions such as Ryan O'Reilly and Noal Accari out with injuries, the Leafs could benefit from another addition up front.

Robertson began his Maple Leafs career by joining them for a playoff run, and depending on how his recovery and return to action is going, he may be able to do it once again. If O'Reilly and Accari are still out come playoff time and Robertson is ready to return to game action, Toronto would greatly benefit by adding him to their playoff roster. Perhaps a larger role would give the young forward a much needed boost of confidence and help improve his game in a big moment.
