Mitch Marner Snaps During Interview Addressing the Media
The playoffs are a stressful time of year for fans and players alike. However, we sometimes underestimate the effects of social media on the players. Mitch Marner spoke with the media today, and he was brutally honest in his response to a reporter regarding the Leafs locker room.
Marner Claims Leafs Don't Care What Reporters Say
Marner had an interesting quote for the media today during his availability, and clearly let some of his frustration out during his interview. The star forward had this to say:
"We don't care what you guys say, we don't listen to you guys outside of this locker room. We're just focused on ourselves."
While Marner could be trying to downplay the effect of the media on the Leafs locker room, his response makes it sound like he's almost angry at the reporters for doing their jobs. It's understandable why Marner is frustrated, the Leafs are down 3-0 in the series against Florida.
Unless we see a whole different level of effort from Toronto tonight, we could see the end of the Leafs in this year's playoffs.
