Yesterday, the Maple Leafs' performance was nothing short of disappointing. A big part of the blame goes to the Leafs' core: Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, William Nylander, and John Tavares were completely neutralized by the Panthers. In fact, they weren't able to score since they reached the first round.

After the game, a detached Matthews made comments that didn't reassure Leafs' fans for what's to come.

If the Leafs lose and are swept by the Panthers, even if they finally won a round, major changes in the organization should come over the summer. Dubas, Keefe, and the star players' jobs in Toronto could be in jeopardy.

Nothing's impossible, but hope has reached an all-time low after yesterday's humiliating game.
