The Maple Leafs haven't had a truly elite starting goalie since Curtis Joseph. While they've had some decent names, none were as good as CuJo.

CuJo nearly wore blue and white again last night, and was just an injury away from suiting up for the Leafs for the first time since 2008.

CuJo Nearly Suits Up

It was a scary scene when Matt Murray left the game last night after being ran into by Lucas Raymond. Ilya Samsonov came in to the game, which eventually became a 5-2 loss, but if Samsonov were to get injured as well, none other than Curtis Joseph would have come in as EBUG.
Former Leaf goaltender Curtis Joseph who was seen carrying his hockey bag through the arena last night confirms to reporters that he was in fact the Ebug after the Matt Murray injury.

Had Samsonov been unable to go we very well could have seen Cujo back between a Toronto net for the first time since 2008

While he may be well over a decade removed from the NHL, could the 55-year-old be the guy to carry the Leafs through the playoffs? Most likely not, but we'll never know!
