Kyle Dubas has likely yet to move out of Toronto, but that doesn't mean he's not thinking ahead to the future. It appears as though Dubas has been shopping himself, and may be on the move sooner than we all thought.
Dubas to Take Over the Sens?
It has been reported many times that Dubas was either going to return to Toronto next season or take time off to be with his family. Since he's been fired by the Leafs, it would make sense that Dubas takes some time off, but according to trusted reporter Luke Fox, he may be in the front office soon enough.
"We're told the idea that Dubas would take over in Pittsburgh was more smoke than fire."
"I think Kyle's waiting for Ottawa,"
Fox mentions two teams, here. The Penguins, who Dubas has been regularly linked to, and the Senators. While it appears that Dubas won't be taking over the Pens any time soon, he may be looking to stay in Ontario and take control of the Ottawa Senators.
Dubas Getting Impatient
The credibility of these reports is up for your own determination, but it's very clear that Dubas isn't keen on waiting for a new job. With fellow front office member Jason Spezza resigning in solidarity with Dubas, we could potentially see the two rejoin in another city.
It would certainly be interesting to see a large chunk of the Leafs' front office migrate to another organization, and could perhaps prompt current members of the Leafs' roster to leave as well.
As Seen on Hockkey Feed - Rumor: Kyle Dubas has already picked his next NHL team.
