Jon Cooper wasn't happy after his team lost 7-2 to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Many have scapegoated the loss of Victor Hedman, but Cooper put the blame elsewhere.

Cooper Calls Out Team

It's impossible to pretend that the loss of Victor Hedman wasn't impactful, as the Norris winner is a huge proponent to the Lightning's success, but he doesn't make up for a five-goal deficit.

Cooper commented on the performance yesterday, and pointed the blame elsewhere.

"Listen, this has nothing to do with Victor Hedman being out of the game.

We've won games in this league without Victor Hedman. ... In the end, did we play hard enough to win? Probably not.

But it's not because one guy was out. That would just be a poor, poor excuse»

Tampa will need to come back with a vengeance tonight if they want to fend off the red hot Maple Leafs.
